Overview

 

The Business Development Director is responsible for partnering with our practice leadership and local provider team to drive growth opportunities that help in driving revenue within the region. They each will serve as a critical member of the company’s leadership team. This role is multi-faceted, supporting corporate development and referral development initiatives to grow the footprint of our existing practices and increase patient and revenue volumes.

 

This role will be embedded within our local practices; My Cardiologist, located in Miami, FL.

Responsibilities

Identify and implement local strategies to grow patient volume and revenue; work collaboratively with corporate and local marketing teams to implement physician relations and business development programs supportive of these goals

 

  • Develop and manage local business development team providing guidance, leadership, direction, and feedback to help strengthen knowledge/skills needed to accomplish growth targets and perform effectively
  • Develop and sustain relationships with regional and local referral sources (including primary care providers, cardiologists, physician practices, area clinicians, payers, and hospitals) to grow patient volume while managing and executing sales and marketing activities consistent with Novocardia’s growth plan
  • Meet regularly with local cardiologists, hospitals, health plans, primary care physicians, and key market stakeholders to share Novocardia’s value proposition, treatment programs, outcomes, and capabilities
  • Coordinate business development activities tailored to the physician community at large, including referral partners (e.g., primary care) and cardiologists
  • Partner with intake team and practice physicians to ensure referrals can be accommodated into schedules and treatment programs here necessary, ensure referred patients are scheduled for evaluation and treatment and provide status updates to referring providers
  • Capture and assess physician referral source satisfaction and provide this information to operations for continuous quality improvement
  • Conduct research and report on volumes and revenue, physician utilization and alignment, and market trends
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, finance, and partner practices to develop and execute annual and quarterly strategic business development plans
  • Develop presentations and other sales/marketing literature to communicate new service lines, capabilities, events, and other news to physician practices, physicians, payers, and hospitals
  • Generate novel ideas with respect to new or improved processes, assumptions, methods, and/or goals that support Novocardia’s local referral volume objectives
  • Undergo training to stay abreast of new and existing cardiovascular service lines
  • Adhere to business development budget and follow all accounting policies and procedures as it relates to business development
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience in health care sales and/or marketing, physician relations, and business development
  • Demonstrated ability to establish relationships and build alliances across a broad range of health care stakeholders (e.g., health plans, primary care, cardiology, hospitals)
  • Strong interest in health care delivery and reimbursement models
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English
  • Sales, marketing, and/or business development experience specific to cardiovascular care
  • Familiarity with value-based care reimbursement models
