Overview

 

The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning the business objectives for Novocardia’s physician practices with employees and management at the practices. The position formulates partnerships across the corporate HR function and within the practices to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization, both locally at the practices and broadly within Novocardia. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its strategic plans, its culture and its competition.

 

The ideal candidate for this position has experience in providing advisory services on complex HR issues relating to position classification and position management, recruitment and placement, employee relations issues, and compensation, and demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

 

As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner, you will focus on the following for Novocardia’s physician practice(s):

 

Strategic Thinking and Business Acumen:

  • Serve as a business partner, consultant, advisor, and subject matter expert to management and employees at Novocardia’s physician practices on a wide range of human resources programs and activities
  • Provide advice on innovative strategies including identifying, evaluating, and recommending solutions to a wide range of complex HR issues
  • Translate business strategies into people and organizational priorities. Leads the discussion with the leadership teams at each physician practice in applying and aligning people and organizational priorities with organization vision and execution, to achieve the business goals
  • Identify gaps in the execution of business strategies and guides business leadership on clarifying and executing business strategies

 

Leadership Development and Communication

  • Work with Leaders to understand and articulate employee feedback and data to improve overall work environment, inclusive of facilitating actions to address areas needing improvement from a people perspective
  • Conduct one-on-one effectiveness coaching with senior leaders at each physician practice to improve leadership capability or the resolution of leadership gaps
  • Assemble and provide summary status updates and guidance for senior leadership at each physician practice and Novocardia’s corporate department
  • Develop and enhance communication to managers and employees to create a culture of engagement, performance, learning, development, and rewards/recognition to facilitate organizational change
  • Support business leadership in organization and culture transformation efforts to achieve a culture of trust, inclusion, and accountability

 

Organizational Development and Talent Management

  • Contribute to the design and/or integration of the holistic organizational plan (i.e., talent, structure, culture, process) for each assigned physician practice. Partner with each such practice to monitor, execute, and continue to evolve and inform the design
  • Lead the implementation of the holistic people plan (e.g., talent management, leadership effectiveness, diversity and inclusion, culture) at each assigned physician practice
  • Lead organizational effectiveness strategies for the business including strategic planning, visioning, organization design, talent management, and change management
  • Identify gaps in current people plan, people programs, and tools to develop critical skills and maintain productivity
  • Participate in the development and implementation of talent development plans and programs by analyzing and interpreting business and talent needs at each assigned physician practice
  • Support managers in organizational processes including succession planning, talent development and organizational health priorities
  • Identifies talent strengths and needs through ongoing assessment of business needs. Collaborate with business leaders to ensure that employees are compensated competitively in line with comparable market positions
  • Evaluate and process personnel action requests including, but not limited to, promotions, reassignments, and separations
  • Contribute to expanding the workforce diversity of the client’s organization and building equitable inclusive business and leadership practices
  • Own and drive goals and special projects for Novocardia as needed

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or related field. Willing to consider relevant experience as substitute for degree
  • 5+ years of Human Resources Business Partner, business/client facing experience or related processes (e.g., hiring, training, performance management)
  • Proven experience in working with executives and senior leaders
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement. A keen interest in experimentation and thinking outside of the box
  • Able to manage workflow, with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up like environment where responsibilities stretch between strategic and tactical
  • Proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and make the best use of limited resources
  • Able to identify a business challenge, articulate it into a problem statement and then solve it using data, science and/or art
  • Successful record of building and improving operational processes and procedures, ability to drive program efficiency and high levels of client/customer satisfaction
  • Strong ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
  • Strong self-awareness with a willingness to receive 360-feedback
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and good judgment
