Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive leadership and other stakeholders to formulate and execute a clear vision for the data architecture
  • Architect, develop, and implement data engineering strategy to support organizational initiatives
  • Create and manage standards and guidelines around data and information architecture
  • Ensure all technical specifications, requirements, policies, and procedures related to the data architecture are well documented
  • Ensure new software integration/implementation into company systems/infrastructure meets functional requirements, and interface specifications to ensure conformance and compliance with HI TRUST and SOX requirements
  • Lead build out and maintenance of the complex ETL/EDI pipelines including extracting and combining data from heterogeneous data sources
  • Design and monitor construction of OLAP or Semantic Layer based on business needs for advanced analytics
  • Establish and implement standards and strategies for data validation, master data management, and data quality
  • Define best practices and standards for the data modeling process, software development life cycle, and agile methodologies
  • Manage the release calendar and change management process including management of coding standards, central code repository, and code release to production
  • Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations and information services in data platform area
  • Manage the global standardization of the data engineering processes and ensure the processes are efficient and continuously improved upon
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • 10+ years relevant experience in data engineering and data warehousing
  • 3+ years of architecture experience
  • 5+ years of healthcare experience involving clinical systems (such as EHR, PACS, and digital imaging) and claims data (such as EDI) as well as extensive knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, DRG, and NDC codes
  • Experience with Microsoft on prem and cloud-based tools
  • Expert-level T-SQL experience, including writing and performance tuning stored procedures and complex queries
  • Expert-level experience designing architecture to support complex data visualizations and advanced analytics operations
  • Extensive experience with HI TRUST, NIST, PCI, and HIPAA common security frameworks
  • Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems
  • Experience with various healthcare data integration standards such as FHIR and HL7
  • Experience with SSRS and/or Power BI
